Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Part-time Tournament Assistant to support our weekend sports programs in Vacaville. This casual role is perfect for individuals passionate about sports and community, looking to contribute to a vibrant atmosphere. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of various sports tournaments and events, primarily on weekends. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexible hours and hands-on experience in sports event management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tournament setup and breakdown, including equipment, signage, and player areas.
- Greet and check-in participants, providing necessary information and directing them to their fields/courts.
- Help maintain game schedules and scores, ensuring timely progression of events.
- Act as a point of contact for participants and coaches, addressing questions and concerns.
- Distribute materials such as rule books, brackets, and informational flyers.
- Monitor playing areas to ensure fair play and adherence to rules, escalating issues to supervisors when necessary.
- Help manage inventory of sports equipment and supplies.
- Provide general administrative support as needed during events.
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants and spectators.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to weekend shifts.
- Basic knowledge of various sports rules (e.g., basketball, soccer, volleyball).
- Ability to lift and move light to moderately heavy equipment (up to 25 lbs).
- Must be at least 16 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in sports event coordination, recreation, or customer service.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Passion for youth sports and community engagement.
