Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive team in Plymouth. Key Responsibilities
- Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms before, during, and after procedures.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including education and emotional support.
- Administer medications and manage intravenous lines.
- Operate and troubleshoot Cath Lab equipment.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure patient safety protocols are followed.
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of services and patient pathways.
Required Skills
- Current valid nursing registration (NMC eligibility for UK candidates/sponsorship candidates).
- Minimum of 2 years post-registration nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS).
- Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Knowledge of cardiac interventional procedures.
- Post-registration qualification in cardiac nursing or a related specialty.
- Experience with digital documentation systems.
