Job Description
Join the dedicated team at UPS as a Route Driver, serving the vibrant local suburbs of Pasco, WA. This is a crucial role where you will be the face of UPS, delivering and picking up packages safely and efficiently on a set route. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a UPS package car or vehicle on a designated route within Pasco and surrounding suburbs.
- Deliver and pick up packages accurately and on time, following all UPS procedures and safety protocols.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing UPS with a high level of service.
- Manage daily delivery manifest and package count, ensuring all deliveries and pickups are logged correctly.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring their integrity from pickup to delivery.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal driving regulations.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license (Class C equivalent minimum, CDL not initially required but a plus for advancement).
- Clean driving record for the past three years.
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and endure physical demands of the job.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to read maps and follow GPS directions accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or a related field.
- Familiarity with the Pasco, WA geographic area.
- Experience using handheld delivery technology.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage a route efficiently.
