Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Hospital Porter. This full-time position offers comprehensive training, making it ideal for those new to the healthcare field who are eager to start a rewarding career. As a Hospital Porter, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our medical center, ensuring the safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital. Your contribution will directly support our medical staff and enhance the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and compassionately transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to various departments (e.g., imaging, surgery, discharge).
- Move medical equipment, laboratory specimens, and supplies between hospital units as required.
- Assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning patients as directed by nursing staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment.
- Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients during transport.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate to heavy loads regularly.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- A compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

- Basic understanding of patient privacy (HIPAA).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification (training can be provided).
