This vital role involves safely and compassionately transporting patients throughout our facilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, or bed to various departments (e.g., imaging, surgery, discharge) within the hospital.
- Operate and maintain transport equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff regarding patient status and transport needs.
- Assist patients with transfers, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and privacy at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including infection control and patient handling techniques.
- Respond promptly to transport requests and prioritize tasks based on patient needs and departmental demands.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including transport equipment storage areas.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull patients and equipment (training provided for proper techniques).
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience towards patients and their families.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of English, both written and spoken, for communication and safety instructions.
- Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain during training).
