Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Adjunct Music Faculty to join our vibrant music department. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling to teach various music courses, including music theory, history, performance, production, and composition, to undergraduate and graduate students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in music, excellent teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering a creative and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures, practical demonstrations, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Prepare course syllabi, lesson plans, and teaching materials in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and assign grades.
  • Hold regular office hours or be available for student consultations via appointment.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of music and incorporate relevant advancements into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and department staff on curriculum development and departmental initiatives as needed.

Required Skills

  • Master's degree or higher in Music or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specific music disciplines (e.g., theory, history, performance, production).
  • Proven teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and ability to engage diverse student populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with relevant music software and technology (e.g., DAWs, notation software) as applicable to the course.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate (DMA, Ph.D.) in Music or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience as a musician, composer, producer, or performer.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and blended teaching methodologies.
  • A strong portfolio of creative work or research in music.
