Job Description

Are you seeking an exciting career opportunity in the oil & gas industry with comprehensive technical training provided? Emerson Automation Solutions is looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Flow Meter Provers. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the fundamentals of flow measurement and calibration. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of various flow meters critical to our clients’ operations. We provide all necessary on-the-job and classroom training, equipping you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this specialized field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided technical and safety training programs.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of flow proving equipment in the field and shop environments.
  • Perform calibration and verification of different types of flow meters (e.g., turbine, ultrasonic, Coriolis).
  • Record and analyze measurement data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with proving equipment and flow meters.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of proving activities, test results, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to learn best practices and advanced techniques.
  • Travel to various client sites as required to perform proving services.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with hands-on tasks.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency (data entry, simple software applications).
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in a technical field (e.g., instrumentation, electronics, mechanics).
  • Prior experience in a field service or industrial setting (even if unrelated to flow measurement).
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of oil & gas industry operations or measurement principles.
