Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Shopify Consultant to join our dynamic Digital Consulting team in Gatineau. This role is critical in bridging the gap between client business requirements and technical Shopify solutions. You will be responsible for understanding complex business needs, translating them into technical specifications, and overseeing the implementation of customized Shopify and Shopify Plus solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical proficiency in Shopify development, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset to guide clients through their e-commerce journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for Shopify and Shopify Plus projects, guiding clients from strategy to implementation.
- Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and architectural designs for Shopify solutions.
- Lead the technical discovery phase, solution design, and configuration of Shopify stores, themes, and apps.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the entire project lifecycle, including post-launch optimization.
- Conduct technical audits of existing Shopify stores and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Stay abreast of the latest Shopify platform updates, app ecosystem, and e-commerce trends.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of our Shopify practice.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Shopify development and configuration.
- Proficiency in Liquid templating language, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including AJAX, jQuery).
- Experience with Shopify API (REST and GraphQL) for custom app development and integrations.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce best practices, UX/UI principles, and conversion optimization strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with Shopify Plus features and capabilities (e.g., Shopify Flow, Launchpad, wholesale channels).
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) in the context of Shopify.
- Experience with third-party integrations (e.g., ERP, CRM, marketing automation, payment gateways).
- Prior consulting experience with external clients.
- Shopify Developer Certification.
