Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated WFH Google Admin Lead to manage a remote team and oversee all aspects of our Google Workspace environment. This critical role requires deep expertise in Google Workspace administration, a strong understanding of security best practices, and proven leadership skills to guide a team of remote administrators. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, security, and optimization of our Google Workspace, providing high-level support, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance collaboration and productivity across our organization. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates based in the Central time zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a remote team of Google Workspace administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Manage and maintain all Google Workspace services (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Chat, Vault, Admin Console, etc.) for a global user base.
- Develop and implement Google Workspace security policies, data governance, and compliance measures.
- Oversee user provisioning, de-provisioning, group management, and access controls.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for Google Workspace related issues, acting as an escalation point.
- Plan and execute Google Workspace migrations, upgrades, and new feature rollouts.
- Monitor system performance, usage, and security logs, generating reports and insights.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to integrate Google Workspace with other business applications.
- Develop and deliver training materials and documentation for end-users and administrators.
- Stay current with Google Workspace updates, features, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Google Workspace Administrator in a large enterprise environment.
- Proven experience leading and managing a remote team of IT professionals.
- Expertise in Google Workspace security settings, compliance, and data loss prevention (DLP).
- Strong understanding of identity management (SSO, SAML, OAuth) and directory services (LDAP/AD integration).
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Google Apps Script, PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Workspace Administrator certification.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management best practices.
- Project management experience for IT initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
