Job Description

Busy Bees Nurseries is offering a unique ‘Volunteer to Paid’ pathway to become a Nursery Helper at our vibrant Chester location. This incredible opportunity allows you to gain invaluable hands-on experience, receive comprehensive training, and work towards recognised childcare certifications, all while contributing to a supportive and engaging environment. Start your journey with us as a volunteer, and upon successful completion of your initial training and demonstration of commitment, transition into a paid position with full support for your professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursery staff with daily activities and routines.
- Engage children in play-based learning and creative activities.
- Support meal times, nap times, and personal care routines.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating nursery environment.
- Observe and report on children's progress and well-being.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in training and professional development sessions.
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for working with young children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and reliable attitude.
- Willingness to learn and commit to professional development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and obtain a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer experience with children.
- A desire to pursue a Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification (e.g., Early Years Educator).
- Knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework (not essential, will be trained).
