Job Description
Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional with a passion for economics and a keen interest in data analysis? Deloitte is seeking a highly motivated Junior Economic Researcher to join our dynamic team in Downtown Sacramento. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to develop robust quantitative analysis skills within a professional consulting environment. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship, working alongside experienced economists and consultants on challenging projects that inform critical business and policy decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and consultants in collecting, cleaning, and managing large datasets relevant to economic analysis.
- Support the development and application of quantitative models for forecasting, impact assessment, and policy evaluation.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize economic research to inform project approaches and findings.
- Prepare preliminary drafts of reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
- Learn and utilize various statistical and econometric software (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS).
- Participate in client meetings and internal project discussions, contributing insights as appropriate.
- Continuously develop knowledge of economic principles, statistical methods, and industry-specific trends.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated foundational understanding of economic principles and statistical concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of curiosity and a proactive approach to learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS) through coursework or personal projects.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
