Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Phlebotomy Support Porter to join our vital clinical team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in the healthcare sector, offering comprehensive training in a supportive environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe transport of phlebotomy samples, equipment, and sometimes patients, contributing directly to patient care and diagnostic processes within our busy hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport phlebotomy samples from wards and clinics to the pathology laboratory, adhering to strict protocols.
- Assist phlebotomists and clinical staff with the collection setup and patient flow as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy trolleys and equipment.
- Manage stock levels of consumables, ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Provide compassionate and respectful support to patients during transport or while awaiting procedures.
- Adhere to all health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality policies.
- Accurately record transport activities and escalate any issues promptly.
