Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Associate to join our finance team in Rosslyn, Virginia. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the accurate administration and reconciliation of paid sick leave and paid time off (PTO) accounts. You will play a crucial part in ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws, while supporting the overall financial health and employee satisfaction of the firm. This position requires strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively with various internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile paid sick leave and PTO accruals and usage for employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all time-off related transactions in the HRIS and financial systems.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local paid leave laws and company policies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on leave balances, usage patterns, and associated costs.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding paid sick leave and PTO policies and balances.
  • Assist with year-end close activities related to leave accruals and payouts.
  • Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to ensure seamless integration of leave data.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy in leave administration.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in financial analysis, payroll, or benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and financial software.
  • Knowledge of federal and Virginia state labor laws pertaining to paid leave.
  • CPA or relevant professional certification.
  • Previous experience in a professional services or large corporate environment.
