Job Description
Join Riverford Organic Farmers as an Eco-Farm Picker and become a vital part of our mission to deliver fresh, organic produce directly from our fields. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about sustainable agriculture, who enjoy working outdoors, and are committed to helping us bring high-quality, ethically grown food to our customers. You will be responsible for harvesting a wide variety of organic fruits and vegetables, ensuring the highest standards of quality and care for our produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully harvest a diverse range of organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs according to specific quality and quantity guidelines.
- Operate basic farm equipment safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Inspect produce for quality, sorting and packing according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in the fields and packing areas.
- Adhere strictly to organic farming principles and health and safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the farm team to meet daily production targets.
- Assist with planting, weeding, and other general farm duties as required.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A keen interest in organic farming and sustainable practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a farming, horticulture, or outdoor labor environment.
- Knowledge of organic farming principles or sustainable agriculture.
- Full UK driving license.
