Job Description

Jacobs Engineering Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic team in New Port Richey, FL. This pivotal role involves providing expert acoustic advice and solutions for a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from urban development and transportation infrastructure to building design and industrial noise control. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge in acoustics, excellent analytical abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality consultancy services. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed acoustic assessments, noise and vibration surveys, and environmental impact studies.
  • Analyze complex acoustic data using advanced modeling software and techniques.
  • Develop effective noise and vibration control strategies and design recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide expert guidance on acoustic design for buildings, infrastructure, and industrial facilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, architects, and engineers to integrate acoustic solutions.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant local, national, and international acoustic standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in acoustic engineering.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in acoustic consulting or a related field.
  • Proficiency with acoustic modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, Odeon, EASE, SoundPLAN).
  • Strong understanding of acoustic principles, noise control, and vibration analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reports and client interaction.
  • Ability to conduct field measurements and operate acoustic instrumentation.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Acoustics or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for PE licensure.
  • Board Certification from the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE).
  • Experience with building acoustics, environmental noise assessments, or industrial noise control.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping software for noise modeling.
