Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and passionate Sports Play-by-Play Annotator with a strong focus on video analysis to join our growing team in Norwich. In this role, you will be instrumental in meticulously analyzing live and archived sports video footage, capturing intricate play-by-play data, and tagging specific events to enrich our comprehensive sports database. Your keen eye and deep understanding of sports will contribute directly to the accuracy and depth of the data used by our clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Watch and analyze sports video footage in real-time or post-event, identifying key plays and events.
- Accurately annotate play-by-play data, including player actions, ball movement, fouls, goals, and other relevant in-game events.
- Utilize proprietary annotation software to input data efficiently and precisely.
- Ensure the highest level of data accuracy and consistency across all annotated content.
- Collaborate with team members and data quality specialists to maintain data integrity.
- Stay updated with rule changes and nuances of various sports to ensure accurate annotation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance annotation workflows.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Deep knowledge and passion for multiple sports (e.g., Football, Rugby, Basketball, Tennis).
- Proficiency in using computer software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex sporting events.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in sports data annotation, video analysis, or sports journalism.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Sports Science, Media Studies, Data Analytics, or a related field.
