Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Support Assistant to join our team at Cheltenham General Hospital. This role involves undertaking a range of general maintenance and support tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of hospital facilities, contributing to a safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a range of general maintenance and support tasks across the hospital premises.
- Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Respond to minor facility issues, reporting larger problems to the appropriate department.
- Ensure that public areas, waiting rooms, and non-clinical spaces are tidy and well-maintained.
- Support departmental staff with logistical and facilities-related requests.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and trust policies.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Participate in training and development programs as required.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a facilities support, maintenance, or similar role.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Facilities Services or a related field.
- Experience working within a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Basic IT literacy for reporting and communication.
