Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Non-CDL Driver to join our FedEx Express team in East Memphis, TN. This is a 100% direct hire position, where you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a box truck to pick up and deliver packages and freight along local routes. As a crucial part of our logistics network, you will uphold FedEx’s commitment to exceptional customer service and timely deliveries, all while adhering to the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a non-CDL box truck for local pick-up and delivery routes within the East Memphis area.
- Load and unload packages and freight efficiently and carefully, ensuring secure transport.
- Provide excellent customer service during all deliveries and pickups, representing FedEx professionally.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and stringent safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all necessary paperwork diligently.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure operational safety.
- Navigate routes effectively using provided GPS systems and strong knowledge of local areas.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license (Class C equivalent) with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
- Ability to physically lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal customer service skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage routes efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance checks and general safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar professional driving role.
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Familiarity with the specific geographical routes and traffic patterns within the greater Memphis area.
- Prior experience operating box trucks or other similar commercial vehicles.
