Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Ward Support Porter to join our essential support team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our wards, contributing directly to patient comfort and efficient service delivery. Working Monday to Friday during daytime hours, you will provide vital logistical and physical support across various hospital departments, directly impacting the quality of care our patients receive. Key Responsibilities

  • Transporting patients safely and comfortably between wards, departments, and for appointments using wheelchairs, trolleys, and beds.
  • Moving medical equipment, supplies, specimens, and patient notes efficiently throughout the hospital.
  • Assisting with the collection and delivery of clean and dirty linen, and ensuring waste is managed appropriately.
  • Responding promptly to requests from ward staff, demonstrating excellent communication and a helpful attitude.
  • Ensuring work areas and equipment are kept clean, tidy, and safe for use, reporting any issues immediately.
  • Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and health and safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar support role within a healthcare or customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Manual handling training certificate.
