Job Description
Royal Caribbean International is seeking talented and passionate Musicians to join our world-class entertainment teams aboard our luxurious cruise ships. This is an incredible opportunity for skilled instrumentalists and vocalists to perform nightly for a diverse international audience, travel the world, and be part of a dynamic, creative community. As a Cruise Ship Musician, you will deliver high-quality musical performances across various venues, from main stage productions to intimate lounge settings, contributing to the exceptional guest experience that defines Royal Caribbean.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regularly scheduled musical sets in various ship venues (e.g., main theater, lounges, poolside)
- Rehearse independently and with ensembles to maintain and expand repertoire
- Adapt to diverse musical styles, including jazz, pop, rock, classical, and world music
- Collaborate effectively with other musicians, vocalists, and entertainment staff
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
- Adhere to shipboard safety regulations and company policies
- Participate in guest interactions as required, representing the Royal Caribbean brand
- Maintain instruments and equipment in excellent working condition
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency on a primary instrument (e.g., piano, guitar, bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, violin) or strong vocal ability
- Extensive repertoire across multiple genres
- Strong sight-reading skills and ability to learn new music quickly
- Excellent improvisation skills where applicable
- Proven performance experience in professional settings
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Excellent stage presence and audience engagement
- Fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal music education (degree or diploma)
- Previous experience performing on cruise ships or in large-scale theatrical productions
- Ability to play multiple instruments (doubling)
- Experience with backing tracks, MIDI, and contemporary music technology
- Knowledge of various music notation software
