Job Description

Kaiser Permanente’s RN Residency program in Roseville, CA offers a structured, paid orientation and a clear career growth path. This comprehensive program is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, equipping you with the critical skills, confidence, and experience needed to excel as a Registered Nurse. You will gain hands-on clinical experience across various specialties, participate in didactic sessions, and receive mentorship from experienced nursing professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all aspects of the RN Residency program, including clinical rotations, classroom instruction, and simulation labs.
- Provide compassionate and evidence-based patient care under the direct supervision of experienced Registered Nurses and preceptors.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including patient safety and infection control protocols.
- Seek opportunities for continuous learning and professional development.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in clinical practice.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligible to obtain prior to start date.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and challenging clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Previous healthcare experience (e.g., CNA, medical scribe, volunteer) in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Membership in professional nursing organizations.
