Job Description

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Microsoft Account Auditor to join our remote team. This role focuses on ensuring the financial accuracy and compliance of Microsoft accounts, licenses, and contracts for our diverse client base. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough audits, identifying discrepancies, and providing actionable insights to optimize our clients’ Microsoft investments. This is a crucial role for maintaining financial integrity and assisting clients in navigating complex licensing agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive audits of clients' Microsoft licensing agreements, deployments, and financial records.
  • Verify the accuracy of Microsoft billing, usage, and compliance across various platforms (Azure, M365, Dynamics, etc.).
  • Identify potential under-licensing, over-licensing, or other financial discrepancies and risks.
  • Analyze complex data sets to uncover patterns, anomalies, and areas for cost optimization.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and evidence for clients.
  • Collaborate with client finance, IT, and procurement teams to gather necessary information and clarify issues.
  • Stay current with Microsoft's evolving licensing models, product changes, and contractual terms.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients on best practices for Microsoft asset management and cost control.
  • Assist in developing and refining audit methodologies and tools.
  • Communicate audit results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT auditing, financial auditing, or software asset management.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft licensing models (e.g., Enterprise Agreement, CSP, Azure commitment, M365 suites).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and contracts.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
  • High degree of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CSAM, CISA, CPA).
  • Experience with software asset management (SAM) tools.
  • Previous experience working for a consulting firm or large enterprise.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management principles and tools.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
