Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Class A Day Cab Driver to join our team in Stockton, CA. This position focuses on local routes, ensuring you are home every night – no overnights required. You will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, adhering to all traffic laws and company regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle (day cab) safely and efficiently.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Transport goods to and from various local destinations within the Stockton metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Ensure timely delivery and pick-up of freight.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and delivery records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers.
- Handle freight with care, ensuring securement and preventing damage.
- Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage immediately.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of verifiable Class A driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD requirements
- Strong commitment to safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of freight and equipment (dry van, flatbed, reefer)
- Familiarity with the Stockton, CA and Central Valley road network
- High School Diploma or GED
