Job Description
Join the Starbucks team as a Quick Service Drink Specialist, focusing on crafting exceptional espresso and cold brew beverages. As a specialist, you will be responsible for preparing a wide range of coffee and other beverages, ensuring consistency, speed, and adherence to Starbucks’ legendary standards. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, a love for coffee, and a desire to create memorable experiences for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso drinks, cold brew, teas, and other specialty items, following Starbucks' recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other beverage equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality.
- Provide friendly, fast, and efficient service to all customers, actively listening to their preferences and making recommendations.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, back-of-house, and customer areas, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies, assisting with stocking and ordering as needed.
- Educate customers on different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods, enhancing their overall Starbucks experience.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Respond to customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Prior experience in a fast-paced food service or retail environment (minimum 6 months)
- Strong passion for coffee and knowledge of basic coffee preparation techniques
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous barista experience, especially with espresso machines and cold brew systems
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Food handler's permit (or ability to obtain one upon hire)
