Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and discreet Part-Time Alcohol & Tobacco Compliance Checker to join our team, focusing specifically on preventing sales to individuals under the legal age. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our stores adhere strictly to state and federal regulations concerning the sale of alcohol and tobacco products. Your primary objective will be to conduct unannounced, covert checks to monitor age verification processes and identify any potential non-compliance, with a particular emphasis on interactions involving customers who appear to be under 21. This position requires a high degree of integrity, keen observation skills, and a commitment to public safety and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct unannounced, covert compliance checks at designated Publix store locations, observing sales practices for alcohol and tobacco.
- Specifically focus on age verification procedures for customers who appear to be under the legal purchasing age (21 for alcohol, varying for tobacco).
- Accurately document observations, including details of each transaction, whether age was requested, and the outcome of the compliance check.
- Identify and report instances of non-compliance, policy violations, or suspicious activities related to age-restricted sales.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of the compliance program and findings.
- Adhere to all company policies, state laws, and federal regulations pertaining to the sale of alcohol and tobacco.
- Provide clear, concise, and objective reports to management.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on relevant laws and company policies.
