Job Description

As an Apple Hardware Systems Aide, you will provide critical technical and administrative support to our hardware design and engineering teams. This role involves assisting with the documentation, testing, and maintenance of hardware systems, primarily focusing on components and systems that interface with Apple technologies. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure design integrity, conduct basic diagnostic checks, and manage technical assets. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist hardware engineers in the design, development, and testing phases of Apple-compatible systems and components.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, CAD drawings, test plans, and build-of-materials (BOMs).
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests, troubleshooting, and validation of hardware prototypes and production units.
  • Manage and organize lab equipment, components, and tools, ensuring proper calibration and inventory.
  • Support the procurement process for new components and prototypes, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Contribute to the assembly and rework of prototype boards and test fixtures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with basic electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
  • Familiarity with CAD software for electronics (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, KiCad) or mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of digital and analog electronics principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Hardware Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Apple hardware or iOS/macOS ecosystem.
  • Prior experience in a lab environment or hands-on electronics assembly/rework.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for hardware design and manufacturing.
