Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and professional Linehaul Logistics Drivers to join our team in Chula Vista, CA. This role offers consistent miles, predictable schedules, and paid orientation to ensure a smooth transition into our company. As a Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight between service centers, playing a critical role in our efficient supply chain. We prioritize safety, compliance, and timely deliveries, offering an environment where skilled drivers can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and company policies.
- Transport freight between Old Dominion Freight Line service centers with a focus on efficiency and on-time delivery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Ensure proper handling and securement of freight to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations personnel, and other drivers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training.
- Represent Old Dominion Freight Line professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
- Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight operations
- Experience operating double or triple trailers
- Hazmat endorsement
