Job Description
Join the FedEx team this summer as a Package Handler & Sorter! This temporary position is perfect for students or anyone looking for a dynamic, fast-paced summer job. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring packages are sorted and handled efficiently, contributing to the smooth flow of our global network. This is a hands-on, on-site role in a warehouse environment, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail. Gain valuable experience with a global leader and contribute to timely deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from vehicles, sortation systems, and containers.
- Scan, sort, and stack packages according to destination and size specifications.
- Safely operate material handling equipment as needed (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Work effectively as part of a diverse team to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to comply with safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical labor role.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends during the summer season.
