Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Winston-Salem, NC. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness and safety of our diverse fleet of vehicles. The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance schedule, coordinating repairs with internal technicians and external vendors, managing parts inventory, and leveraging technical knowledge to diagnose issues and optimize fleet performance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for the entire fleet, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee all vehicle repairs, including delegating tasks to in-house technicians and managing outsourced services with vendors.
- Conduct technical diagnostics to identify issues and recommend appropriate repair strategies, utilizing maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
- Track and manage fleet maintenance records, parts inventory, and vendor service agreements.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements to reduce downtime and operational costs.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Support the procurement of parts and services, negotiating with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports on fleet maintenance activities, expenses, and performance for management review.
- Assist in the training and development of junior maintenance staff on technical procedures and best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a related automotive technical role.
- Strong technical understanding of diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and associated equipment.
- Proficiency with fleet management software and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, or a related field.
- Experience with specific OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, CAT ET).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or coordinator role.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance for fleet operations.
