Job Description
Join the Amazon team as an Immediate Start Packer in our Provo fulfillment center! This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to start work right away in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Packer, you will be an essential part of our logistics network, ensuring that customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and efficiently. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately pick and pack customer orders according to established guidelines and quality standards.
- Utilize handheld scanners to track inventory and ensure correct item selection.
- Prepare packages for shipment, including labeling, weighing, and staging for delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily productivity targets and operational goals.
- Inspect products for quality and damage, reporting any issues to supervisors.
- Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT) if certified, or be willing to be trained and certified.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and lift up to 49 pounds for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Basic computer literacy for using scanning devices and internal systems.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding warehouse environment.
- Adherence to all safety guidelines and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or logistics operations.
- Experience with operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) is a plus (training provided if needed).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
