Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Pharmacy Delivery Driver & Tech Aide to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This dual-role position is crucial for enhancing our patient care by ensuring timely and safe delivery of medications, while also providing essential support within the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to accuracy and safety. You will be a key part of our effort to extend our pharmacy services directly to our community members, ensuring they receive the care and medications they need with professionalism and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver prescription medications and other pharmacy items to patients' homes and other designated locations within the local area.
- Verify patient identity and ensure accurate delivery of prescriptions, maintaining strict confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with non-clerical and non-judgmental tasks, including organizing inventory, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- Process patient transactions at the point of delivery, including collecting payments and providing necessary instructions or receipts.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, pharmacy staff, and management regarding delivery schedules, patient needs, and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency for delivery tracking and internal systems.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, preferably in a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy aide.
- Familiarity with local New Port Richey area routes.
- Customer service experience in a retail environment.
