Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Intermodal Truck Driver to join our team for local port work in the Humble, TX area. This position offers the advantage of being home every night, providing excellent work-life balance. As an Intermodal Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting containers between the port, rail ramps, and customer locations. We are looking for professional drivers committed to safety and excellent service, handling local routes with predictable schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle, primarily hauling intermodal containers.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor and trailer equipment.
  • Transport containers between the port, rail yards, and customer facilities in the Houston metropolitan area.
  • Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight, managing schedule effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Minimum of 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to perform duties associated with truck driving and cargo handling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous intermodal or port drayage experience
  • Current TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card
  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
