Job Description
Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented high school student looking for your first step into the retail world? Nordstrom is seeking a dedicated High School Inventory Aide to support our back-of-house operations. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring our merchandise is accurately received, stocked, and organized, contributing directly to our store’s efficiency and customer experience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the foundational aspects of retail inventory management in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving incoming merchandise, checking against packing slips for accuracy.
- Unpack, sort, and tag new products efficiently and accurately.
- Organize and stock merchandise in the stockroom according to company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliations as needed.
- Prepare merchandise for transfer to the sales floor or other locations.
- Support the retail team with various operational tasks as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail environment (even volunteer or school-related).
- Familiarity with inventory management processes.
- A strong interest in fashion and retail.
