Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Industrial Robotics Annotator with a strong focus on computer vision to join our innovative team in Toronto. In this role, you will be crucial in preparing high-quality datasets for our advanced robotic vision systems. Your primary responsibility will involve precisely labeling and annotating images and video frames featuring industrial robots, their environments, and objects they interact with. This data will directly fuel the development and training of machine learning models that enable our robots to perceive, understand, and interact with the world more intelligently. If you have a keen eye for detail, a foundational understanding of computer vision concepts, and a passion for industrial automation, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform highly accurate annotation of images and video data, identifying and labeling industrial robots, tools, workpieces, obstacles, and other relevant objects within complex manufacturing environments.
  • Apply various annotation techniques including bounding boxes, polygons, keypoints, and semantic segmentation to create comprehensive datasets for machine learning models.
  • Work closely with computer vision engineers and data scientists to understand annotation requirements and contribute to improving annotation guidelines.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency by adhering to strict annotation protocols and providing feedback on ambiguous cases.
  • Utilize specialized annotation software and tools efficiently.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to review and validate annotations from peers.
  • Document annotation processes and contribute to best practices for data labeling.

Required Skills

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Familiarity with computer vision concepts and terminology (e.g., object detection, segmentation).
  • Proficiency in using data annotation tools (e.g., Labelme, CVAT, or similar).
  • Basic understanding of industrial robotics or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in a related field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a technical discipline.
  • Experience with CAD software or 3D modeling.
  • Previous experience in data labeling or annotation for machine learning projects.
  • Exposure to programming languages such as Python for scripting or data manipulation.
  • Understanding of industrial safety protocols.

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • Dynamic and innovative work environment at the forefront of industrial robotics.
  • Employee assistance program.
  • On-site parking or transit subsidy.
