Job Description

Join the IKEA team in Visalia as a Media Unit Aide, specializing in client-side joint assembly. This role is crucial for ensuring our customers receive perfectly assembled media units, enhancing their shopping experience and satisfaction. You will be responsible for meticulous assembly, troubleshooting, and providing excellent customer service during the assembly process at client locations. This position requires strong attention to detail, a knack for hands-on work, and a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site assembly of IKEA media units at client homes or businesses.
  • Ensure all components are correctly fitted and units are stable and secure.
  • Interact professionally with clients, answering questions and addressing concerns regarding the assembly process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any assembly-related issues efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area during and after assembly.
  • Adhere to IKEA's quality and safety standards in all tasks.
  • Provide feedback to store management on common assembly challenges or product improvements.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability in furniture assembly or similar hands-on technical work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for on-site client visits).
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move furniture components.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with IKEA products or similar flat-pack furniture.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of power tools and hand tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
