Job Description
Are you passionate about creating a safe and positive online environment for young people? Do you possess exceptional empathy and a knack for written communication? Discord Inc. is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as an Online Chat Support for 14 Year Old Teens. This is a fully remote position with no phone work required, allowing you to make a meaningful impact from anywhere! As an Online Chat Support specialist, you will be on the front lines, engaging directly with 14-year-old teens within our platform. Your primary role will be to provide empathetic support, guidance, and moderation through text-based chat. You’ll help foster a welcoming and safe community, address concerns, and ensure that our younger users have a positive and secure experience online.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with 14-year-old users via text-based chat, providing empathetic and constructive support.
- Monitor chat rooms and channels for adherence to community guidelines and safety protocols.
- Address user inquiries, concerns, and reported issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide guidance and resources to teens regarding online safety, digital well-being, and community standards.
- Escalate complex or sensitive issues to senior support staff as per established procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of interactions and resolutions.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful online environment for all users.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to convey empathy and clarity.
- Demonstrated understanding of and empathy for challenges faced by teenagers.
- Strong judgment and discretion, particularly in sensitive situations.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and platform features.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in online community moderation, social media management, or youth support roles.
- Familiarity with the Discord platform and its various features.
- Background in counseling, social work, education, or related fields focusing on youth.
