Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neurology Specialist to join our esteemed medical team at Spire Liverpool Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and manage a broad range of neurological disorders, such as epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and migraines.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and referrals for rehabilitation or specialist interventions.
- Order and interpret neuroimaging studies (MRI, CT) and neurophysiological tests (EEG, EMG/NCS).
- Collaborate effectively with neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and contribute to the hospital's clinical governance framework.
- Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, treatment options, and disease progression.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development, staying abreast of the latest advancements in neurology.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and postgraduate qualification in Neurology (e.g., CCT in Neurology or equivalent).
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Proven experience in the diagnosis and management of diverse neurological conditions.
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in interpreting neuroimaging and neurophysiological studies.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice.
- Eligibility for international sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the UK NHS or private healthcare system.
- Sub-specialty interest or fellowship training in a specific area of neurology.
