Job Description
BrightView Landscape Services is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-time Gardener to join our local team in New Port Richey, Florida. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about horticulture and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces, with a focus on weekend availability and flexibility. You will be responsible for general gardening duties within designated local neighborhoods, contributing to the aesthetic appeal and health of various green spaces. This position offers a flexible schedule, primarily on weekends, allowing you to balance work with other commitments while enjoying the satisfaction of working outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine gardening tasks including weeding, planting, pruning, and watering of garden beds and planters.
- Maintain the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of assigned garden areas, removing debris and fallen leaves.
- Monitor plant health, identifying and reporting any signs of disease, pests, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Assist with the installation of new plants, shrubs, and flowers according to design specifications.
- Operate basic gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively (e.g., hand trowels, pruners, hose).
- Adhere to company safety standards and environmental guidelines at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding progress, challenges, and supply needs.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of plants, flowers, and gardening techniques.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful landscapes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a gardening, landscaping, or nursery setting (professional or extensive hobbyist).
- Familiarity with local Florida plant species and climate challenges.
- Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation to various local sites.
