Job Description
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our dynamic team in Burlington, Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional passionate about transforming data into actionable insights that drive business growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our BI solutions, dashboards, and reports. This is an on-site role, requiring daily presence at our Burlington office to foster team collaboration and direct engagement with project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robust BI solutions using various tools and technologies.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications for data warehousing, reporting, and dashboard development.
- Create and maintain efficient ETL processes to ensure data integrity and availability across systems.
- Develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using leading BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense.
- Perform data modeling, data warehousing, and data mining to support analytical initiatives and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across different departments to understand data needs and deliver effective BI solutions that align with business objectives.
- Optimize existing BI solutions for performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and reports, fostering data literacy within the organization.
- Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- Strong experience with at least one major BI tool (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense) for dashboard and report development.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling).
- Experience with data integration tools (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Azure Data Factory).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud-based BI platforms and services (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for advanced data analysis and automation.
- Knowledge of data governance and master data management (MDM) principles.
- Relevant industry certifications in BI technologies or cloud platforms.
