Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Independent Shopify Consultant to join our network and collaborate on projects with global brands. This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven professional to leverage their deep Shopify expertise to guide clients through strategic decisions, optimize their online presence, and implement robust e-commerce solutions. You will work directly with clients to understand their business objectives, identify opportunities for growth, and deliver high-impact Shopify solutions. This role demands a blend of technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and exceptional client communication skills. As an independent consultant, you will manage your own time and project deliverables, contributing to a diverse portfolio of challenging and rewarding engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation on Shopify platform capabilities, best practices, and strategic roadmap development for various clients.
- Conduct thorough discovery sessions to understand client business goals, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Design and propose innovative Shopify solutions, including theme customization, app integration, and custom development strategies.
- Oversee the implementation of Shopify projects, working alongside development teams or providing direct hands-on configuration.
- Advise clients on e-commerce strategy, conversion rate optimization (CRO), user experience (UX), and digital marketing best practices within the Shopify ecosystem.
- Perform technical audits and performance optimization recommendations for existing Shopify stores.
- Develop comprehensive project scopes, timelines, and budgets for client engagements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new Shopify features, apps, and industry trends to provide cutting-edge advice.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for clients to empower their in-house teams.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Shopify Consultant or in a similar advanced e-commerce role.
- Deep understanding of the Shopify platform, including Shopify Plus, Liquid templating language, and API integrations.
- Strong knowledge of e-commerce principles, UX/UI best practices, and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
- Familiarity with various Shopify apps and their strategic application.
- Excellent client-facing communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Shopify Partner Certification or relevant e-commerce certifications.
- Experience working with enterprise-level clients or global brands.
- Knowledge of other e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, BigCommerce) and their migration paths to Shopify.
- Background in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or basic understanding of back-end technologies.
- Experience with headless commerce architectures on Shopify (e.g., Hydrogen, Storefront API).
- Fluency in French is an asset for local client engagements in Quebec.
