Job Description
Are you eager to start a hands-on career and work outdoors? Lamar Advertising Company is seeking a motivated and reliable Signage Installer Helper to join our team in Omaha, NE. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with no prior experience who are ready to learn a trade. You will work alongside experienced installers, assisting with the installation, maintenance, and removal of various types of outdoor advertising signage, including billboards and digital displays. This role requires comfort working at heights, lifting, and operating basic tools in all weather conditions. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced installers with the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and removal of outdoor advertising signs.
- Learn to safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and other equipment relevant to sign installation.
- Prepare work sites by gathering materials, tools, and equipment.
- Help with the safe loading and unloading of signs and materials onto trucks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform general labor duties as assigned to support the installation team.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Comfort working at heights from ladders, lifts, or platforms.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Reliable transportation to and from the job site/office.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in construction, general labor, or other physically demanding outdoor work (even if informal).
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
