Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Remote Google Security Admin to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while contributing to critical security initiatives. You will be instrumental in safeguarding our user data and infrastructure within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace environments. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of Google’s security services, best practices, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential threats. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance, managing access, and responding to security incidents to maintain a secure digital landscape for our global operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage security policies and configurations across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace.
- Monitor security logs and alerts for suspicious activity, investigate incidents, and coordinate response efforts.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions within Google environments, adhering to the principle of least privilege.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and remediate weaknesses.
- Develop and maintain documentation for security processes, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security best practices throughout the SDLC.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Google security features, threats, and compliance regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and support on Google security best practices to internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security services (e.g., IAM, Cloud Armor, Security Command Center, Cloud Key Management Service).
- Proven expertise in Google Workspace security administration (e.g., advanced phishing protection, data loss prevention, mobile device management).
- Strong understanding of network security principles, firewall rules, and VPC networks in GCP.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Experience with security incident response and forensic analysis.
- Knowledge of industry security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
- Experience with other cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) within GCP.
- Experience with SIEM tools and integration with Google security logs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
