Job Description

Are you passionate about helping customers succeed and preventing churn? HubSpot is seeking a dedicated Remote Customer Retention Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for proactively engaging with customers who are considering canceling their accounts, understanding their challenges, and providing solutions that demonstrate the continued value of HubSpot’s platform. This is a fully remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States. You will be a critical part of our customer success strategy, directly impacting our customer lifetime value and overall business growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers who express intent to cancel, actively listening to their concerns and reasons for churn.
  • Identify underlying issues and propose tailored solutions, demonstrating the value and benefits of HubSpot's features and services.
  • Negotiate and offer appropriate retention strategies, including service enhancements, training resources, or alternative plan options.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer success, sales, and product teams to address complex customer issues and feedback.
  • Document all customer interactions, reasons for churn, and successful retention tactics accurately in the CRM.
  • Analyze retention metrics and provide insights to improve overall customer satisfaction and reduce churn rates.
  • Stay informed about product updates, industry trends, and competitor offerings to effectively position HubSpot's value.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in customer service, account management, or customer retention, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully de-escalating customer issues and resolving complaints.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong empathy and active listening skills, with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and general office productivity tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of customer interactions in a remote setting.
  • Data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience with HubSpot's CRM platform.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based business models and churn prevention strategies.
