Job Description
Are you a compassionate and skilled caregiver looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on someone’s life? Right at Home Long Beach is seeking dedicated Private Duty Caregivers for one-on-one home care assignments. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with daily routines.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, laundry, and maintain a tidy living environment.
- Provide companionship, engage in meaningful activities, and offer emotional support.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of professional caregiving experience (private duty, assisted living, or similar).
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to assist clients with transfers and other physical demands of caregiving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
- Experience with clients requiring specialized care (e.g., dementia, Parkinson's, post-operative care).
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Tagalog).
