As a Pipeline Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the flow of products through our extensive pipeline network, maintaining equipment, and responding to operational events. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control pipeline systems, including pressure, flow rates, and temperatures, using SCADA systems and other control room tools.
- Operate and maintain pipeline equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, and meters.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on pipeline facilities.
- Respond promptly to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency situations, coordinating with field personnel and emergency services as needed.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and government contract requirements.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and other documentation.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and emergency drills.
- Communicate effectively with field technicians, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
- Commitment to working safely and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational training in a related technical field (e.g., Process Technology, Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance).
- 2+ years of experience in pipeline operations, oil & gas, utilities, or a similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) pipeline regulations.
- Experience with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
