Job Description
Join Cardinal Health as a Pharmacy Logistics Technician with a focus on Freight & Distribution in our Portland, Maine facility. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of pharmaceutical products through our supply chain. You will handle receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and preparation of shipments, working closely with various teams to maintain high standards of product integrity and delivery timelines. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict regulatory guidelines, and a commitment to operational excellence within a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming pharmaceutical shipments.
- Perform inventory control tasks including cycle counts, stock rotation, and shelf organization.
- Pick, pack, and prepare pharmaceutical orders for outbound freight, ensuring accuracy and compliance with shipping regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification preferred but training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with freight carriers and internal logistics teams to coordinate timely dispatches and resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Adhere to all FDA, DEA, and other relevant pharmaceutical handling guidelines.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive products.
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency (data entry, inventory software).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Certification in forklift operation or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations (FDA, DEA).
