Job Description
We are seeking a warm, responsible, and energetic Part-Time Nanny to provide after-school care for a family with two children (ages 6 and 9) in Newark, DE. The primary focus of this role will be school pick-ups and engaging children in fun and educational activities until parents return home. This is a consistent, reliable position for someone passionate about childcare and looking for stable part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely pick up children from school daily at 3:00 PM and transport them home.
- Assist with homework completion and provide academic support.
- Plan and engage children in age-appropriate activities, including creative play, outdoor adventures, and educational games.
- Prepare light snacks and simple meals for children.
- Supervise children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Maintain a tidy and organized play area and children's common spaces.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding children's activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to thrive.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable childcare experience (e.g., nannying, babysitting, teaching assistant)
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to manage multiple children and maintain a structured routine
- Strong organizational skills and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an after-school nanny or tutor
- Background in early childhood education or child development
- References from previous childcare positions
- Ability to speak a second language
