Join Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System as a dedicated Night Owl RN, specializing in our unique ‘7 On, 7 Off’ schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and progress, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the medical team.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, adhering to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond to emergency situations with calm and decisive action, ensuring patient safety.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Required Skills
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience working night shifts.
- Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, Med-Surg RN-BC).
