Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Music Warehouse Associate to join our team in Shawnee, OK, focusing specifically on instrument shipping and receiving. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate handling, inspection, and preparation of musical instruments for both incoming stock and outgoing customer orders. This position requires a passion for music, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment, ensuring that every instrument is handled with the care it deserves.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and accurately verify incoming shipments of musical instruments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect instruments for any damage, defects, or discrepancies upon arrival and report findings appropriately.
  • Safely and efficiently move, stage, and store instruments within the warehouse, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare musical instruments for shipment according to company standards, including proper cushioning and boxing to prevent damage.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and scanning equipment to track inventory and update records.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and efficiently, if certified.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and timely fulfillment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, preferably with delicate or high-value items.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with musical instruments or knowledge of their handling requirements.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving roles.
