Job Description

We are seeking a highly dedicated and skilled Civilian Military Base Nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare services at a military installation near Stamford, CT. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions for acute and chronic conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and coordinate individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records in compliance with all federal regulations and facility policies.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate life support as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance professional skills and patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to all military healthcare regulations, protocols, and standards of care.

Required Skills

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or outpatient setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Experience in military healthcare or federal contracting environments.
  • Certifications in specialized areas such as emergency nursing, critical care, or public health.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work with a diverse patient population.
