Job Description
We are seeking a highly dedicated and skilled Civilian Military Base Nurse to provide comprehensive healthcare services at a military installation near Stamford, CT. This is a unique opportunity to serve our nation’s military community in a civilian capacity, ensuring high-quality patient care within a stable federal contract framework. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with military and civilian healthcare teams to deliver a wide range of nursing care, supporting the health and readiness of our service members and their dependents. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions for acute and chronic conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation and patient safety.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and coordinate individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and self-care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records in compliance with all federal regulations and facility policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate life support as necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance professional skills and patient outcomes.
- Adhere to all military healthcare regulations, protocols, and standards of care.
Required Skills
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or outpatient setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience in military healthcare or federal contracting environments.
- Certifications in specialized areas such as emergency nursing, critical care, or public health.
